As the CEO and founder of WiseCare Urgent Care, Perry Weisman, MD, is dedicated to improving patient access to walk-in urgent and emergent care, as well as access to primary care 7 days a week. His perspective is to enhance the conventional model of urgent care medicine by including sicker but non-emergent patients who would normally choose to visit the emergency room for more in-depth care such as IV fluids, antibiotics, IV toradol, and steroids. At both the Millersville Park and Pasadena, Maryland facilities, Dr. Weisman offers comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for a variety of emergent and urgent conditions.

A seasoned current practicing Emergency Physician, Dr. Weisman has worked in different emergency rooms, large and small for the past 13 years across the region. He is experienced with rescue procedures such as advanced airway management and intubation, ventilator management, as well as advanced IV access using central lines in critically ill patients. He also has practiced life-saving stroke, sepsis, and cardiac care as well as trauma management in several ERs, including Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, Parham Doctors' as well as Retreat Hospital all in Richmond, Virginia. He has worked in multiple free-standing emergency departments in Maryland and Virginia including Bowie Health Center in Bowie, Maryland as well as Hanover and West Creek free-standing emergency facilities in Virginia. Additionally, he has worked in multiple rural emergency room facilities in Texas, Minnesota, as well as Maryland and Virginia. While managing his busy urgent care practice he continues to keep his skills up by working locums emergency medicine on a routine basis.

In addition to providing both urgent care and primary care health services, Dr. Weisman has a special interest in cardiac care. In 2005 he completed a Heart Failure Fellowship at Georgetown - Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. Thus he has a special interest in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disease and congestive heart failure.

Beyond his clinic work, Dr. Weisman is designated as a civil surgeon for the United States Department of Homeland Security and the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. Dr. Weisman is also a designated aviation medical examiner for pilots at the Federal Aviation Administration.

Dr. Weisman studied psychology and pharmacology and graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He went on to earn his medical degree from Saint George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Weisman completed his residency in internal medicine at Drexel University-Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and finished his fellowship training in cardiovascular disease and heart failure at Georgetown University Hospital-Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.
