WiseCare Supports Walk The Walk Foundation Christmas Gift Campaign
WiseCare – with help from our generous staff – is proud to collect and donate new toys, hats, and gloves for local children within Anne Arundel County.
Donations are being made to WALK THE WALK FOUNDATION for its mission to brighten Christmas morning for over 1,500 local children this year.
Walk the Walk Foundation (WTWF) is a Maryland-based nonprofit focused on benefiting local children in need. Throughout the year, it partners with professionals, volunteers, donors, and other nonprofits whose focus fits our mission of creating a cycle of giving within the community.
Founded by David and Kimberly Mitchell, Walk the Walk Foundation is a faith-centered organization working to help children with fundamental needs.
2018: “Christmas for Children” Campaign
Christmas for Children is the heart of the WTWF Foundation. Founded in 2005 it started asking the local community to sponsor children for Christmas.
WTWF asks sponsors to purchase Christmas gifts for those families who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Collectively 3,500 children have been sponsored for Christmas over the past years.
How does WTWF get kids info?
WTWF receives children’s names from the Department of Social Services or from an organization that provides social services. The parents or foster-care providers fill out forms so we know the needs or desires of the kids.
Currently, WTWF provides Christmas for children in Anne Arundel County, Maryland and Mercer County, West Virginia, and Prince William County, Virginia.
What makes WTWF different?
Walk the Walk Foundation adds a personal touch to the process by setting up distribution sites where volunteers can come and help deliver the gifts to the families.
This creates more of a warm and welcoming environment where the families can come to not only pick up their gifts but also be greeted by smiling faces, and their children can play games with the volunteers as well.
